The Hillman Cancer
Center of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute stands on
a two-acre site on the campus of UPMC Shadyside. This outstanding hospital,
known for advanced, patient-centered care, became a part of UPMC health
system in 1997.
The Shadyside Hospital
Foundation is seeking to raise $25 million in private funds to help build
the $104 million facility. In recognition of a generous gift of $10 million
from Henry L. Hillman and the Hillman Foundations, the facility will be
named Hillman Cancer Center. Here is why the Shadyside Hospital Foundation
believes this may be the most far-reaching project in UPMC Shadyside's
133-year history and for UPMC health system:
Services of A.L. Brourman
Associates, Inc. were retained to provide fund-raising counsel for a capital
campaign to raise $27 million toward a new $104 million cancer center, research center
and parking garage.
