Organizational Background:

The first American
professional concert band to be organized in over twenty- five years,
the River City Brass Band made its debut in 1981 at the Pittsburgh Symphony's
British Festival. Under its founder and Music Director, Bob Bernat, the
band won such critical and audience acclaim that it quickly grew to become
the most active professional concert band in America. Now under the baton
of Denis Colwell, the band continues to garner accolades from all across
the nation.The RCBB presents
a popular 56-concert subscription series in Pittsburgh at its "home base," Carnegie Music Hall, and in several Western Pennsylvania communities.
Services of A.L. Brourman
Associates, Inc. were retained to provide fund-raising counsel for a $3
million endowment campaign.
